I agree with #3, #9 and #10 in particular. I am not one for patriotism and beating other countries, myself! But Tessanne is just wonderful and deserves to win, whether Jamaican or not. She has an amazing voice, and I am surprised that quite a few Jamaicans did not realize this until she came on the show.
I am not for #4 and # 5. I just love when one of our own rises, not that anyone else falls. It’s good to know that even though we are considered 3rd world on one level, we can be 1st world on another! I love Tessanne for showing that!
Pleez doant put oonu goat mout pon Tessane and turn this into a Jamaica/American thing. Keep in mind that there are more Jamaicans than Americans to vote!
She is a proud Jamaican (she talks patwa and Jamaican english, not twang) for sure and she said she wants to do well for her people. When she said that I was certain she was there to represent us. I wish her great success.

Tessanne Does Tessanne Better Ever Time…
As a Jamaican who is researching music and completely immersed in the investigation of ways in which Jamaican culture is consumed and reproduced, I could’t overlook one of the highlights of this year in terms of this consumption. Tessanne Chin has rocked The Voice over and over and over again and Jamaicans at home and abroad ‘glad bag buss just like Olympics time.’ With tears and talk, laughter and leaps of faith, bruk pocket and bootleg call attempts, we are showing our support in spite of, no matter what, by any means necessary.
Of course, I wholeheartedly agree with Dionne Jackson Miller’s 10 point manifesto on why Jamaicans are killing themselves to figure out how to vote for Tessanne, why we are rooting for her, and why Jamaicans win again and again through the hard word, determination and the tears of joy…..
I’ll tell you why.
I have championed Tessanne Chin from years and years ago. I have produced two tracks with her
1) I Want To Know What Love IS
2) Back To My Love
I also took Tessannes material into a few majors, having meetings with both Universal, Island & EMI.
They all were saying the same thing, where does this fit in genre, all these majors are followers, they were saying Rock & Reggae. What genre to we fit this into???
The majors follow each other and can’t lead. They didn’t know where she did fit…. Now look at them lol!!! But they are going to slot her into a genre… hope she persists to keep some reggae element.

I’d only reiterate that she sounds Jamaican. That’s a refreshing change.

Add: The diaspora can finally have a say; No delegates needed to win this race; Race does not fully define us, our culture does.
