Hi, thanks for stopping by! I’m Dionne Jackson Miller, a Jamaican journalist with nearly 20 years experience. I’m an attorney as well, so I also have a special interest in legal affairs and how the law affects us in our daily lives. This is one of my two main blogs, and focuses on public affairs generally. The other looks at legal issues and case law.
I love politics, as you’ll see from this post on Jamaican Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller and Prince Harry, Parliament (Prime Minister’s Question Time anyone?) the environment, legal affairs (when is media publicity adverse to a court case?) and I think there are a million issues to discuss related to sports, as you’ll see in this great post on Asafa Powell and my post on minor sports.
Those issues and more are covered here. So stay along for the ride, feel free to leave a few comments, and keep coming back!
NB the great pic in my header is by apolonia at www.freedigitalphotos.net.

As I have just merely dipped my toes into the waters of Jamaican politics, I cannot make any meaningful comments except to say that experience has shown that government alone cannot create wealth. Governments acquire their money from the people whom they serve. The private sector creates the money which is then given in part to government.
The debate was well handled by both moderator and participants.

Hi, Dionne. Just listened to the documentary on the police. Thought it was great. I work for the National Library of Jamaica. In fact, I am head of the Audio Visual Department and I feel that this work belongs in our collection. Do you have any contact information for the person who produced this documentary?
